The person who switches it ON can hear a female voice. A woman who keeps on soliloquizing, without interrupting herself except when the switch is OFF. The discreet  background (home rumor) behind the voice, makes the presence of a second space manifest, to which the listener seem to find themself simultaneously and remotely connected.
